Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in aviation project management, including airport infrastructure.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, airport operations, construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project resources effectively.
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex construction plans and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, design, execution, and completion of complex aviation-related projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets, and manage changes as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists to meet project specs.
  • Lead project teams, guiding collaboration and productivity.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and mitigate delays and cost overruns.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure work aligns with plans and quality standards.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and legal requirements.
  • Manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers; ensure terms are met.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making for project challenges.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Mentor junior project managers and staff; promote growth.
  • Lead post-project evaluations to assess outcomes and identify improvements.

Position Summary:

A Senior Aviation Project Manager position is currently available in our Construction Services department. Construction Services provides program management and owner’s representation services for airport, commercial real estate, and construction projects. The Senior Aviation Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of complex aviation-related projects. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuing compliance with aviation regulations, and maintaining project timelines and budgets. The position typically supports airport infrastructure development, terminal improvements, and FAA-funded initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will ensure project objectives are met on time, within scope, and budget, while fostering a collaborative environment with stakeholders and team members. Your expertise will drive innovation and excellence, contributing to our reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects.

Essential functions:
  • Oversee the planning, design, execution, and completion of complex aviation-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
