Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking a Sr. Implementation Engineer to support new client and facility implementations within its contract logistics network. You will lead site setup, layout execution, and process optimization to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Role requires 5+ years in logistics design/launch, 3PL and omni-channel experience, plus strong data analysis and WMS skills. Expect collaboration across IT, operations and procurement in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, operations management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in logistics & distribution designing, implementing, or launching facilities and solutions.
  • 3PL experience and e-commerce/omni-channel fulfilment experience are required.
  • Experience in utility/infrastructure design for material handling equipment and processes.
  • Experience managing vendors/integrators for material handling equipment.
  • Six Sigma and LEAN certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Solutions Design to understand data assumptions and procurement needs for new client implementations.
  • Lead site setup, facility outfitting, layout execution and process optimization in the fulfillment center.
  • Define slotting and replenishment strategy by analyzing data and communicating insights to partners.
  • Coordinate with IT and WMS to define location naming, work zones, routing, and pick sequences.
  • Use data and labour standards to validate pricing assumptions and develop operational reporting.
  • Partner with Training to ensure work instructions reflect actual processes and interactions.
  • Work with Project Management and Procurement to ensure timely delivery and budget adherence.

Job description

The Sr. Implementation Engineer will support the implementations of new clients and new facilities in CEVA Contract Logistics network. The Engineer will be responsible for maintaining layouts, ensuring facilities readiness actions are completed, tracking capital investments, and implementing CEVA LEAN and Continuous Improvement Engineering standards. The Engineer will collaborate with the Implementation project team and local Operations & Facilities teams to ensure all actions are completed on-time and in budget.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
  • Collaborate with Solutions Design to understand data assumptions, solution design elements, and procurement needs for new client and new facility implementations.
  • Lead site setup, facility outfitting, layout execution and process optimization activities in the fulfillment center
  • Define the slotting and replenishment strategy for each new client engagement by analysing complex sets of data. Must communicate key insights and strategies to Operational partners.
  • Coordinate with IT and WMS Configuration team to define location naming, work zones, material flow & routing, and pick sequences in WMS system.
  • Use data, direct observation, and predetermined labour standards to validate pricing assumptions, including change requests, and develop Operational reporting to drive visibility and efficiency in the Operation.
  • Collaborate with the Training & Development team to ensure work instructions represent the specific processes and physical work performed in the facility.
  • Partner with Project Management and Procurement to ensure equipment and supplies are ordered, tracked, delivered, and implemented on-time and on budget..
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years of Logistics & Distribution experience designing, implementing, or launching new facilities and solutions
  • Third Party Logistics (3PL) experience required.
  • E-commerce and Omni channel fulfilment experience.
  • Experience in designing building utilities and infrastructure requirements including power, air, data required to support solution design for material handling equipment and processes
  • Experience in managing vendors and integrators with implementation of material handling equipment.
  • Six Sigma and LEAN certifications a plus.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Data Analysis, process mapping tools, Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint. Knowledge of WMS functionality.
  • Experience in warehouse automation applications
  • Experience in managing vendors and integrators with implementation of material handling equipment.
  • Experience in quality and efficiency design with experience to identify best practices in high volume environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in sortation design and components, rates and material handling of various package configurations
  • Experience in designing and implementing user acceptance testing for material handling equipment installation.
Characteristics:
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated history of developing relationships and building trust, ability to work independently & in a team environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop appropriate solutions.
