Job summary

ZETA USA Inc. in King of Prussia, PA, is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer to lead automation projects for biotech and pharmaceutical clients, overseeing design through commissioning in GMP environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
7–12 years of automation/controls engineering experience in biotech/pharma/medical device manufacturing
Experience with Rockwell Automation (PLC, SCADA, FactoryTalk)
Experience with DeltaV or ability to learn quickly
Deep understanding of S88 batch concepts and process automation fundamentals
Mandatory GMP experience including qualification protocols
Experience with databases (SQL Server), industrial networks/OT, and plant-floor interfaces
Familiarity with bioreactors, filtration skids, CIP/SIP systems, and hygienic utilities
Ability to work independently, manage client expectations, and lead technical decision-making
Willingness to travel and be on-site in King of Prussia at least 3 days per week

Responsibilities

Integrate new equipment into existing manufacturing systems and lead greenfield automation builds
Develop, review, and troubleshoot automation code, functional specs, and system architecture
Write and execute GMP-compliant commissioning, qualification, and validation documentation
Serve as a technical leader on client projects, guiding internal teams and mentoring junior engineers
Work directly on customer sites to diagnose issues, optimize performance, and support production
Collaborate with process, equipment, and CQV teams to ensure seamless project delivery
Contribute to building internal standards, best practices, and scalable processes

Your tasks

This is a senior‑level role for someone who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑moving environment and enjoys implementing solutions on real equipment. You’ll lead automation projects for major biotech and pharmaceutical clients, working across brownfield integrations (about 70% of our work) and greenfield builds. You’ll own everything from design through commissioning, and you’ll be the person our clients trust when they need a system to work reliably in a GMP environment.

What You’ll Do

Your profile
