Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Director of Student Advising, the Senior Associate Director manages the first- and second-year Career Fellows Program as well as a separate second-year Career Fellows team to support career related programming. This position designs, manages and executes all responsibilities related to the Career Fellows and Mock Interview Program.
  • Recruit 30 Interview Preparation Team Career Fellows.
  • Review applications; selection of Career Fellows is competitive and selections are based upon the diversity of the applicant's experiences, their industry and functional expertise.
  • Identify students who have proven success completing their own job searches and stand out as among the best when it comes to industry specific interviewing and networking experience.
  • Manage entire hiring / onboarding process.
  • Train Interview Preparation Team Career Fellows to ensure that they are prepared to provide valuable career preparation assistance to first and second year students through mock interviews, networking meetings, resume reviews, and interview preparation training sessions.
  • Supervise Career Fellows; review student evaluations and provide timely feedback to Career Fellows regarding strengths and weaknesses.
  • Initiate Career Fellow and Advisor meetings to establish a working relationship between Career Fellow and Advisor; communicate Advisor feedback to Career Fellow regarding industry and interviewing knowledge and presentation skills.
  • Serve as point of contact to all students participating in the Mock Interview Program; manage all student inquiries/communications and scheduling.
  • Plan logistics including technical specifications for appointment scheduling system, scheduling, day of event preparations, etc., related to the program and oversee all staff executing on logistics.
  • Recruit 8 Resource Team Career Fellows; review applications; selection of Career Fellows is competitive and selections are based upon the diversity of the applicant's experiences, their industry and functional expertise.
  • Identify students who have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Recruit and manage 8 First Year Career Fellows in partnership with WGA Career Executive Directors; interview and select First Year Career Fellows.
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction on project work conducted for MBACM.
  • Ensure career fellows communicate pertinent recruiting information to their clusters.
  • Instruct, counsel, and advise MBA students on long-term career development as well as immediate job search objectives for full-time MBA positions and summer internships within the Tech industry; collaborate with Recruiting Relationship Managers to develop strategic plans for responding to changes in the economy and students' industry choices; work with industry RRMs to broaden corporate relationships.
  • Contribute to content and execution of projects including student resume processes, mock interviews, trek management, web design and other student-related programs.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience are required. MBA or other graduate degree strongly preferred along with a minimum of five to seven years of prior work experience in recruiting, job placement, career counseling or coaching and/or significant industry experience in one or more of the following industries: Consulting, Consumer Products, Diversified Financial Services, Energy, Health Care, Hedge Funds, Investment Banking, Investment Management, Manufacturing, Media & Entertainment, Private Equity, Public Interest, Real Estate, Retail, Technology / Telecom, Travel & Hospitality, Venture Capital, Entrepreneurship. Highly motivated and dedicated individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Previous managerial experience required, along with an ability to work as a strong team player. Must interact across multiple levels and be willing to go above and beyond to achieve goals. Deep knowledge of business and business careers with strong written and oral communication skills is essential.
