We are looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer who can build and ship apps using the latest technology on Android devices to deliver innovative digital experiences that serve athletes and consumers.

The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of Kotlin, along with a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design and solid reliability. You should be able to own an area or direction, provide leadership to a group of other specialists and complete features to specification, on schedule and with high quality.

You will be a part of the Global Technology organization working closely with NIKE Innovation teams within Valiant Labs and Member Experiences. Responsibilities

• Develop high quality, consumer-grade features onAndroid usingKotlin.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Collaborate with team to define, design, test, and ship new features.
• Utilize standards and methodologies to maintain code quality and organization.
• Assist withSprint planning and organization.

What you’ll be working on

Qualifications

• Strong programming experience withKotlin andJava.
• Proficient in object-oriented programming and the MVVM architecture.
• Solid understanding of interface development, includingJetpack Compose.
• Knowledge ofAndroid SDK, Android Studio, and tooling.
• Understanding of memory management, multi-threading, and concurrency.
• Experience working with data exchange and persistence, including Room.
• Experience integrating withREST APIs andcloud services.
• Experience with automated testing and unit tests.
• Familiarity withGit, Jenkins CI/CD, versioning, and release management.
• Experience publishing production apps to the Android Store.
• Working knowledge ofScrum, KanBan and/or Agile principles and practice.
• Ability to collaborate with iOS teams to design and ensure feature parity.
• Excellent communication skills in working with globally distributed teams.
• Experience with Coroutines and Espresso a plus.
