The Studio Research & Analytics team is currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Research to support the Disney+ Marketing, Product & Content Curation groups. The Senior Analyst works closely with the Disney+ teams, analyzing and synthesizing data, as well as providing support for quantitative and qualitative research initiatives for key stakeholders. The primary areas of responsibility for this role focus on research supporting the Disney+ brand and bundle initiatives.
This role will report to the Manager, Research and is located in Burbank, California.
Responsibilities:
Overall, assist with quantitative and qualitative research projects from inception to completion, including project management, the collection, preparation, extraction, and analysis of data, and report development
Working with the Manager, ensure that every deliverable is strategically actionable and drives key decision making
Serve as a point of contact for various groups within Disney+, and across the broader enterprise, providing consumer and industry-based input to the decision-making process
Assist in the day-to-day operations of monthly domestic and international tracking studies (Brand Health, CSAT, Cancellation, Ad Tracker)
Assist with ad-hoc, custom quantitative and qualitative research to guide marketing efforts and strategy related to the Disney+ brand and Disney DTC bundles and refinement of the on-platform product
Manage assignments, implement quality assurance processes, and support the team in tasks to ensure completion within established timeframe
Assist in synthesizing primary, secondary and on platform research to inform product and marketing decision making
Respond to time sensitive data requests from internal clients
Support presentation of findings based on research conducted and contribute to related business discussions
Be at the forefront of SVOD industry trends amidst a rapidly changing landscape
Build and maintain relationships with research counterparts from other divisions of The Walt Disney Company as well as external vendors
Stay abreast of current trends and new techniques in the field of market research
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years quantitative and qualitative market research experience - either supplier-side, client-side, or some combination thereof, including project management
Strong project and vendor management skills
Experience working with SPSS, Survey Reporter, Q, Marketsight, or other cross-tabbing tool
Computer literate, with advanced proficiency with MS Excel - capable of quickly producing summary tables, pivot tables, vlookup/index fields, and visualization(s) with various types of data
Experience with questionnaire design, tabulation planning and data processing
Ability to interpret data, with strong quantitative reasoning and analytical skills
Strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight deadlines and constant change
Confident communicator with strong social, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues in an organized way
Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives
Adaptable, quick learner and a strong, proactive work ethic
Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Intellectual curiosity and a passion for innovation
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of data visualization software
Working knowledge of multi-use programming language(s), such as SAS, STATA and/or R
Entertainment market research experience
MBA or advanced degree in Market Research or Statistics
Strong business acumen
Organizational savvy, with the ability to “read a room”
Compelling storyteller
Willing to challenge traditional thinking
Strong builder of relationships and trust
Passionate consumer of content – movies, TV, SVOD
Familiarity with the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Data Sciences, Statistics, Marketing, Psychology or related field or equivalent experience
