SUMMARY:The Senior Analyst, Operational FP&A will play a key role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and decision-making across Baylor Genetics' operational functions, including Laboratory Operations, R&D, Product Development, and G&A departments. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate forecasts, analyze performance, and support strategic initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally in diagnostics, biotech, or healthcare.
- Exceptional analytical skills to process large amounts of financial and statistical information
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and BI tools (e.g., NetSuite, Tableau, Workday Adaptive, Power BI).
- Advanced experience with Microsoft PowerPoint updating and creating presentations that explain financial results.
- Ability to take initiative, engage staff, and create change.
- Excellent in time management - proven ability to work on and manage multiple projects within tight timelines and in a fast-paced growth environment.
- Must be self-motivated with strong work ethic, desire to learn, attention to detail, and have a dedication to quality.
- Must possess excellent written, presentation, and oral business communication skills.
- Adaptable to change in a rapidly growing company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Forecasting & Planning
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-range financial plans for operational departments.
- Maintain and update financial tools, databases, models, and queries to reflect changes in business assumptions and operational performance.
- Collaborate with department leaders to gather inputs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Business Partnering & Decision Support
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Conduct ad hoc financial modeling and scenario analysis for projects such as RFPs, new product launches, and market expansion.
- Support resource allocation decisions through cost-benefit and ROI analysis.
- Project Finance
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate business cases for commercial initiatives.
- Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario testing to assess risk and return.
- Assist in preparing materials for executive and board-level presentations.
- Operational Finance Support
- Track and report on cost savings initiatives and operational efficiency metrics.
- Support cost accounting processes, including BOMS (Bill of Materials) updates and research.
- Assist department leaders with Capital Approval Requests (CAR), ROI calculations, and investment documentation.
- Contribute to month-end close activities, including variance analysis and financial reporting.
- Support the Director in developing dashboards and tools to monitor operational departments performance.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics Compliance Program.
