Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an Operations professional in Tempe to support electronic funds transfers, wire activity and cheque issues within established procedures. You will work on global accounts and help ensure accurate postings and audit readiness.

The role emphasizes analytical problem solving, attention to detail, and knowledge of custody services. A college degree is preferred and candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate electronic movements of funds, wire transfers and cheque issues following procedures.
  • Assist in audit document preparation for global accounts and identify discrepancies.
  • Participate in Cash Ops projects within the team.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior staff.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support controls and accuracy of postings.
  • Deliver work with minimal revisions and facilitate discussions to reach decisions.

Major Duties
  • 1. Responsible for facilitating electronic movements of funds, wires transfers and cheque issues along with trade postings on behalf of the client within defined procedures
  • 2. Works and assists in audit document preparation pertaining to global accounts and identifies discrepancies vs. standard instructions
  • 3. Participation in groups that work on projects for the Cash Ops larger team
  • 4. Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact
  • 5. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees
  • 6. More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas
  • 7. Delivers a work product that requires less revision
  • 8. Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions
Knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required
  • Knowledge on financial instruments and basic terminology related to custody services is preferred
Experience
  • A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Related Industry qualification / or studying towards, is preferred
