Spectrum Software Technology (SST) is currently seeking a Sr ATC Specialist for our civil aviation programs. This position requires 15+ years of Air Traffic Control experience. Some knowledge of FAA SMS/Safety Processes is helpful but not required. Must be willing to complete a 32 Hour SMS Safety Certification class.
This role is based out of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s William J. Hughes Technical Center adjacent to the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey. This is an onsite role.
This position will be responsible for conducting and facilitating SMS panels for simulation studies conducted at the AFTIL, primarily dealing with ATCS and Airport Operational Assessments.
The ATC/Safety Specialist will be responsible for compiling the results/findings of the SMS panel into a Comparative Safety Assessment (CSA) document and/or SRMD which will identify any safety risks and mitigation strategies to deal with such risks.
The ATC/Safety Specialist will also be responsible for writing comprehensive reports which analyze the operational condition and safety of current ATCTs, specifically with regard to any line-of-sight issues presented by current or future airport obstructions.
The ATC/Safety Specialist will work closely with other ATC Specialists at the AFTIL as well as AFTIL sponsors and data collectors to compile the necessary input for these reports.
Candidate may be required to attend other FAA-required courses. If applicable, refresher training shall be done every two years.
