JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Safety and Risk Control Consultant - HVAC to join EPIC. This client-facing role is responsible for assessing risks, developing safety programs, providing strategic loss control guidance to EPIC’s large and growing book of commercial and residential HVAC service businesses. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the HVAC industry specifically in a safety and risk control leadership role, possess strong presentation skills, the ability to interface confidently with HVAC business leaders and the ability to travel to client sites nationally.

LOCATION: Remote / Work from home

  • Travel Required: 30-50% across the United States. When not traveling, this role will work from home.
  • Strongly Preferred: Candidates for this role will ideally live within an hour of a major airport to expedite travel time & costs, and will live in Mountain or Central time zones, but able to work across all U.S. time zones, as work needs require.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • REQUIRED: Candidates with strong background in overseeing OSHA Safety and Compliance for HVAC contractors (commercial or residential) . Certified Safety Professional or similar safety professional certification is preferred.
  • Previous insurance industry experience is nice to have but not required. However, candidates should have strong understanding of risk and loss control, in particular for the HVAC industry.
  • Candidates willing & able to travel 30-50% of the time, as work needs dictate.
  • Candidates with strong communication skills who can effectively communicate with boots-on-the-ground contractors and also present to and professionally engage with C-suite and high-level company executives.
  • Experienced safety professionals who are ready to take their expertise to the next level by getting out of the day-to-day safety management and paperwork and instead use their experience to provide risk management and consultative services to a variety of construction & infrastructure clients.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

A detailed list of job duties includes (but is not limited to):

  • Conduct on-site risk assessments and safety evaluations for HVAC service providers.
  • Develop and implement loss control strategies to mitigate workplace hazards and reduce claims.
  • Deliver engaging safety training and presentations to clients and their employees.
  • Analyze loss trends and provide actionable recommendations for improved risk management.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams to support clients with risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay current on industry regulations, OSHA standards, and best practices in loss prevention.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted risk management advisor.
  • Travel within the Midwest and nationally as needed for client meetings and site visits.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • REQUIRED: Minimum 5+ years of experience in loss control, safety consulting, or risk management in the HVAC industry
  • Strongly Preferred: Certifications CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), or similar safety certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA codes, and industry-specific safety standards.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience conducting safety training.
  • Ability to analyze complex risks and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and risk management software.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.

COMPENSATION:

The national average salary for this role is $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
