Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center is seeking a Sr Admissions Representative to manage a smooth, professional registration process and ensure accurate demographic and financial information for proper reimbursement.

The role emphasizes data integrity, customer service excellence, and collaboration with supervisors to train new staff. This is a full-time day/evening position focused on delivering high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of problem-solving experience in a customer service environment (preferably healthcare or insurance) or a Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of problem-solving experience in customer service (healthcare or insurance).

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients or patient representatives.
  • Explain hospital registration policies related to registration, co-payments, and deductibles.
  • Register patients with accurate demographics and financial information in the system.
  • Maintain and scan documents in the imaging system.
  • Perform insurance verification via HDX and other eligibility tools.
  • Collect co-pays, payments, and deductibles.
  • Ensure all forms are completed for the registration process.
  • Assist Supervisor/Team Leader with mentoring and training of new staff.
  • Maintain an accurate QPI Log and daily HDX unviewed account reports.
  • Understand system security and interfaces (SMS, HDX, IBEX, Document Imaging).
  • Comprehend inpatient/outpatient flow, census, verification, and reconciliation processes.

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors in April 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We are currently seeking a Sr. Admissions Representative (Full-Time, Day/Evening)

The Sr Admissions Rep/Registrar is responsible for facilitating an efficient, professional, and effective registration process through the attainment of demographic and financial information via face-to-face registration that is pertinent to appropriate reimbursement and statistical analysis. The individual is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate accounts to ensure data base integrity and timely claims processing. Provide support to an organizational culture that lends the highest degree of service excellence standards to all customer groups.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and/or patient representatives.
  • Explain general hospital policies related to registration, co-payments, and deductibles.
  • Register patients to include interviewing patients via face-to face registration and accurately entering demographics and financial information in the hospital’s registration system.
  • Responsible for maintain char documents and scanning appropriate documents into the hospitals document imaging system.
  • Perform insurance verification via HDX and other appropriate online eligibility verification applications.
  • Collect co-payments, payments, and deductibles.
  • Ensure the competition of all forms and documents for the registration process.
  • Assist Supervisor / Team Leader with mentoring and training of new staff.
  • Assist staff members in maintaining a current and accurate QPI Log.
  • Responsible for completing HDX unviewed account report on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the usage of the systems security and systems interface (i.e. SMS, HDX, IBEX, Document Imaging)
  • Demonstrate an understating on the appropriate usage of the master menu, inpatient/outpatient flow, census, and verification, comments/inquiry, maintaining and upgrading accounts a reconciliation processes.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of downtime procedures.
  • Perform other job duties/assignments as assigned.
