Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Sr Actuarial Analyst for the Medicare & Retirement line to build models, develop pricing assumptions, and support pricing strategies. The role emphasizes data analysis, Excel/SAS modeling, and collaboration across internal teams.

The position offers remote work from anywhere in the U.S., with an in-office requirement for Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. four days a week for those locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Must be on actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more actuarial exams.
• 2+ years of actuarial experience.
• Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS.

As a Sr Actuarial Analyst within UHG’s Medicare & Retirement (M&R) line of business, you will face a number of diverse challenges in the actuarial space including data analysis, modeling in Excel and SAS, and other analytics in support of the Part D products. You will work on complex actuarial projects that have strategic importance to our mission of helping people lead healthier lives and helping to make the health system work better for everyone.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Build models to support Part D pricing and forecasting
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop assumptions for Part D pricing
• Support ad hoc studies that inform and strengthen pricing strategies
• Contribute to the Part D bid submission process

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
