Overview

VTG is seeking an Sr Action Officer to provide support to the Director's Action Group (DAG) for a senior executive level customer, located in Chantilly, Va.

What will you do?

The Action Officer provides technical editing support in accordance with established organizations/office policies regulations and procedures. The Action Officer directs and oversees the receipt tasking tracking and closure of all internal and external tasks. The Action Officer manages the action tracking system. The Action Officer establishes and maintains effective working relationships with customers and other stakeholders of the directorate/office both internally and externally.

Tasks
  • Perform and maintain DAG support functions to include recognition programs, training, and security
  • Manage Tracking Information and Enterprise Response (TIER) actions for supported office
  • Manage CORRtemp and correspondence handbook
  • Analyze and assign or perform actions as appropriate
  • Manage and execute the action tracking process, develop standard operating procedures and serve as a facilitator for user requirements
  • Monitor progress on actions, generate metrics to demonstrate accountability for meeting deadlines and quality expectations; Prepare periodic reports on action status and keep leadership aware of late, pending a new actions
  • Disseminate policy in legislative changes to appropriate parties internal to the customer
  • Draft, proofread, edit, and provide a final review of internal and external correspondence
  • Coordinate and maintain presentations for audiences up to the Senior Executive level; Maintain a quality control process for all presentations
  • Participate in DAG related meetings
  • Participate in internal committees, integrated process teams (IPT) working groups and task forces
  • Manage records generated during the execution of the customers' projects and programs in accordance with federal laws and regulations as well as all customer directives and instructions
  • Lead, update, and deliver various training courses to customer audiences, including TIER, action officer, and correspondence courses
  • Lead, develop and streamline DAG support functions
  • Identify internal and external issues that may impact the customer and take appropriate action as approved by the US government
  • Draft, consolidate, coordinate, and edit executive level documentation to ensure consistency with organizational strategic objectives; Apply an in-depth knowledge and understanding of DoD IC issues, policies, programs and procedures affecting the customer
  • Analyze and capture metrics on task execution, make recommendations on process improvements and strategic efficiencies
  • Make recommendations and prepare briefings, point papers and other materials based on analysis of complex policy issues and documents
  • Ensure critical information is disseminated to internal and external agencies including the office of Secretary of Defense, Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and mission partner equipment offices
  • Lead and manage TIER actions: assigned to the appropriate division or branches, follow up and provide status reports, coordinate responses in a non-conflicted manner for senior management review
  • Lead and participate at customer wide TIER meetings

  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas federal acquisitions Department of Defense (DoD) or the Intelligence Community (IC) budget and finance processes and national security policy
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering or project program management or both
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives at multiple organizational levels
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
  • Demonstrate an experience adapting to rapidly changing work environment while maintaining flexibility and versatility
  • Demonstrated experience fostering solid relationships that promote cooperation and communicate expectations
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing situations and make well informed decisions
  • Demonstrated experience community effectively and concisely using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience
  • Demonstrated experienced mentoring, delivering one-on-one training, or facilitating training courses
  • Possess multiple years of TIER experience
  • Requires active TS/SCI w/Poly
Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Technical or Business-related discipline (Advanced degree preferred) with 10 years within IC or DoD or 5 years within Chantilly Customer

Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with 10 years within IC or DoD with 5 years of those year within Chantilly Customer

Pay Range

VTG's estimated starting pay range is $135,000 - $160,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
