Position: Sr Accounts Payable Specialist

Main Responsibilities

Primary Function / Overview:

Responsible for accurate and timely processing and payment of vendor invoices, developing the AP team, monitoring performance, and driving process improvements in collaboration with the A/P Manager.

Essential Functions:

• Lead AP staff to ensure timely invoice processing and minimize backlog.
• Ensure proper invoice approval per company policies and prevent unauthorized payments.
• Manage wire payments and SAP payment proposals.
• Coordinate with purchasing and field teams to resolve invoice issues.
• Escalate issues related to past due AP, taxes, and vendor disputes.
• Build relationships with internal teams for dispute resolution and vendor management.
• Develop team competencies through training and coaching.
• Supervise a team of 6 AP associates.
• Implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
• Maintain AP procedures and ensure adherence to policies.
• Recommend and implement new processes for efficiency.
• Support ERP upgrades related to vendor management.
• Report weekly AP performance metrics.
• Participate in daily routines and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience with supervisory roles.
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and OneNote.
