Job summary

Ledgent Finance and Acounting is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a St. Paul-based role. This position offers hybrid flexibility with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

You will oversee AP workflows, review and process invoices, and assist with month-end close and 1099 reporting. The role is contract-to-hire with a pay range of $74,000–$87,000 per year and full benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of full cycle accounts payable experience.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, payment cycles, vendor management, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily accounts payable workflow and prioritize team workload.
• Review and process invoices, expense reports, vendor payments, ACH transactions, and check runs.
• Monitor invoice approvals and ensure timely payment processing.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and AP reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily accounts payable workflow and prioritize team workload.
• Review and process invoices, expense reports, vendor payments, ACH transactions, and check runs.
• Monitor invoice approvals and ensure timely payment processing.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and AP reconciliations.
• Maintain vendor records, W-9 documentation, and payment information.
• Support annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and increase efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with operations, purchasing, and finance teams to resolve invoice and payment-related issues.
• Assist with training and onboarding new AP team members as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• 3-5 + years of full cycle accounts payable experience
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, payment cycles, vendor management, and account reconciliations.
• Experience reviewing work for accuracy and helping coordinate team priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
