Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client in Georgia is seeking a Senior Accountant–Workday Financials to support month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of general ledger experience, deep Workday Financials expertise, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Effective collaboration with accounting colleagues, preparation of audit schedules, and participation in process improvements are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive general ledger accounting experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
• Advanced proficiency in Workday Financials with the ability to independently navigate, research, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting-related issues.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and support financial decision-making.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet critical deadlines with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing and posting journal entries within the organization’s financial system.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure financial records are complete and accurate.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while meeting established reporting deadlines.
• Analyze financial transactions and resolve accounting-related discrepancies through detailed research and problem solving.
• Support accounting activities related to cash, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare audit schedules, account support, and other documentation required for internal and external reporting needs.
• Collaborate with accounting team members to improve workflows, strengthen controls, and enhance process efficiency.
• Contribute to ongoing system optimization efforts by identifying and addressing accounting process gaps and data integrity issues.
