Job summary

University of Maryland Faculty Physician’s Inc. is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support monthly close for assigned practices and departments.

The role prepares work-papers for external audits, assists with 990 and other tax-related filings, and provides back-up to the Accounting Supervisor/Director of Finance. Strong GAAP knowledge and independence are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline from four-year college or university.
• Five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• High level of initiative and ability to work independently.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
