Job summary

University of Maryland Faculty Physician’s Inc. is seeking an experienced accountant to manage journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and prepare monthly financial statements with variance explanations for assigned practices and departments.

Responsibilities include preparing supporting work-papers for external audits, assisting with Form 990 tax returns and personal property returns, and supporting the Director of Finance and accounting supervisor. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• High level of initiative and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance explanations for assigned practices/departments.
• Prepare supporting work-papers for the external audit, preparation of the 990 tax returns, personal property returns and unclaimed property filing.
• Assist the accounting supervisor/manager and Director of Finance as necessary; and other duties as assigned.
