Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC is seeking an Accountant III to support the accounting team with accurate financial reporting and timely month-end close at our Phoenix, AZ location. The role emphasizes GAAP compliance, journal entries, and thorough account reconciliations.

You will collaborate across departments, provide training to junior staff, and help drive process improvements while maintaining high standards for accuracy and ethics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in an accounting environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; GAAP knowledge.
• Knowledge of AS400 and Lawson accounting programs a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries.
• Perform month-end reporting and account reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis.
• Provide project assistance and support for the accounting department and other functions of the business.
• Provide assistance and training to other team members.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
• Self-motivated team player with an ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including overtime
• Ability to function in a fast-paced team environment
• Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and adhere to tight timelines
• Knowledge of GAAP
