Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Sr Accountant (Accountant III) to join its finance team in Phoenix, AZ.

The role focuses on journal entries, month-end close, and thorough financial analysis while supporting cross-functional processes within a fast-paced environment. The Sr Accountant will ensure accuracy in balance sheets and income statements, while leveraging GAAP expertise and advanced Excel/Word skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with AS400 and Lawson is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare journal entries.
• Perform month-end reporting and account reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis.
• Provide project support for the accounting department and other functions.
• Provide assistance and training to other team members.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
• Self-motivated team player with an ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including overtime
• Ability to function in a fast-paced team environment
• Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and adhere to tight timelines
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel
• Knowledge of AS400 and Lawson accounting programs a plus

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of experience in an accounting environment
