Senior Property Accountant - Multifamily

Position Overview

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established organization in the real estate industry seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to support a growing multifamily portfolio. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who brings strong property accounting experience, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and can quickly take ownership of multiple entities.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager, advanced Excel skills, and a strong understanding of multifamily accounting. This individual will support financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and various accounting projects while working closely with a collaborative accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting responsibilities for a portfolio of multifamily properties, each operating as a separate entity.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger account analysis.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjusting entries.
• Support month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with accounting cleanup projects, audits, and resolution of historical discrepancies.
• Review financial activity and investigate variances, inconsistencies, or material misstatements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for assigned properties.
• Assist with investor reporting, tax work papers, and audit documentation.
• Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, property operations, and other internal departments.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
• Provide support and guidance to team members as needed while independently managing assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Previous accounting experience within the multifamily real estate industry is required.
• Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager is highly desired.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex reconciliations.
• Experience with Entrata is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience managing accounting for multiple properties or legal entities.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage competing priorities and meet established deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and assisting colleagues when needed.
• Accounting degree preferred but not required with relevant experience.

Pay Details: $38.46 to $43.26 per hour
