Job summary

LA28 is seeking a Squash Services Lead to plan, organize, coordinate and manage the administrative functions of Squash at the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

You will relay critical services for athletes, World Squash and officials; coordinate sport information with LA28 divisions; recruit and train staff and volunteers; and act as the main point of contact for IF services and NOC/NPC teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years equivalent professional experience required.
• Experience collaborating with National and International Federations and knowledge of their structure and functioning during national and international events.
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the operational elements required for organizing major sports events/competitions.
• Experience in international sporting events.
• Experience in working with an International Federation and knowledge of their structure and operation is an advantage.
• Experience of working with a National Sport Federation and knowledge of its structure and operation at domestic and international events is an advantage.
• Experience in managing a team (staff and volunteers) at major events.
• Good understanding and knowledge of project management, including planning and producing tracking documents.
• Ability to manage multiple projects involving numerous stakeholders.
• Skills in report writing and presentation materials.
• Knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as the specific sport’s technical requirements is an advantage.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• Excellent level of English, both written and spoken, is essential for this position.
• Long-term interest and involvement in Olympic and Paralympics sport.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and be the dedicated sport contact person for organizing visits from the International Federation.
• Coordinate accommodation, transportation, accreditation, and hospitality.
• Advocate for and coordinate all sport stakeholders’ services including Athletes, Technical Officials, IF Staff and IF guests.
• Create and ensure organized follow-up of databases related to key topics of the Sport Delivery Plan between the IF and LA28 departments.
• Be the primary point of contact for NOC/NPC services teams to establish an effective communication channel.
• Support the Sport Manager to ensure that all operational procedures and processes of LA28 are understood and followed.
• Collaborate with the Sport Manager and head of technical operations for coordination of teams and administrative operations.
• Recruit, train, and ensure the operational management of sport-specific volunteers.
• Collaborate with IF Services and Relations Manager to share information and tools with the services team and other stakeholders.
• Games Time responsibilities: coordinate services for athletes, IFs, officials, and sport information.
