Job summary

LA28 is seeking a Squash Services Lead to plan, organize, coordinate and manage the administrative functions of Squash at the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

You will relay critical services for athletes, World Squash and officials; coordinate sport information with LA28 divisions; recruit and train staff and volunteers; and act as the main point of contact for IF services and NOC/NPC teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years equivalent professional experience required.
  • Experience collaborating with National and International Federations and knowledge of their structure and functioning during national and international events.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the operational elements required for organizing major sports events/competitions.
  • Experience in international sporting events.
  • Experience in working with an International Federation and knowledge of their structure and operation is an advantage.
  • Experience of working with a National Sport Federation and knowledge of its structure and operation at domestic and international events is an advantage.
  • Experience in managing a team (staff and volunteers) at major events.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of project management, including planning and producing tracking documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects involving numerous stakeholders.
  • Skills in report writing and presentation materials.
  • Knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as the specific sport’s technical requirements is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Excellent level of English, both written and spoken, is essential for this position.
  • Long-term interest and involvement in Olympic and Paralympics sport.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and be the dedicated sport contact person for organizing visits from the International Federation.
  • Coordinate accommodation, transportation, accreditation, and hospitality.
  • Advocate for and coordinate all sport stakeholders’ services including Athletes, Technical Officials, IF Staff and IF guests.
  • Create and ensure organized follow-up of databases related to key topics of the Sport Delivery Plan between the IF and LA28 departments.
  • Be the primary point of contact for NOC/NPC services teams to establish an effective communication channel.
  • Support the Sport Manager to ensure that all operational procedures and processes of LA28 are understood and followed.
  • Collaborate with the Sport Manager and head of technical operations for coordination of teams and administrative operations.
  • Recruit, train, and ensure the operational management of sport-specific volunteers.
  • Collaborate with IF Services and Relations Manager to share information and tools with the services team and other stakeholders.
  • Games Time responsibilities: coordinate services for athletes, IFs, officials, and sport information.

LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Squash Services Lead

Within this division, LA28 is looking for a Squash Services Lead. Under the authority of the Squash Sport Manager, the Squash Services Lead is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, and management of the administrative functions of Squash at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Squash Services Lead will need to relay and facilitate critical services for key stakeholder groups, such as athletes, World Squash and technical officials. They will also coordinate sports information with the various divisions of LA28, coordinate the recruitment of sports staff, as well as the recruitment and training of volunteers needed for competition.

Key Responsibilities
Pre Games Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and be the dedicated sport contact person in organizing visits from the International Federation in coordination withtheIFServicesTeam and Head of Competition Management.

Act as the dedicated sports contact for coordinatingIFservices-related matters with the International Federation, including accommodation, transportation, accreditation, and hospitality.

Advocateforand coordinate all sport stakeholders’ services including Athletes, Technical Officials, IF Staff and IF guests.

Create and ensure organized follow-up of the sharing of databases related to key topics of the Sport Delivery Plan between the International Federation and the various departments of LA28

Betheprimary point of contact for NOC/NPC services teams toestablishan effective communication channel in preparation for their visits and information requests.

Support the Sport Manager to ensure that all operational procedures and processes of LA28 are understood and followed.

Collaborate with the Sport Manager and the head of technical operations for the coordination of the teams and administrative operations: monitoring, updating, and sharing the database and various resource documents, planning management, and of the organization, team meetings, etc.

Work closely with the Sport Manager, the technical operationslead, the National Federation, andtheLA28Workforce teamto recruit, train, and ensure the operational management of sport-specific volunteers.

Manage all other tasks and projects related to the delivery of competitions as requested by the Sport Manager.

Collaborate with theIF Services and Relations Manager to ensure sharing of information and tools with the services team and other stakeholders.

Games Time Responsibilities

Coordinate the following matters within the sport during the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games:

Services for athletes

Services for the International Federation

Services for international officials

Sport Information

Managea team of full-time employees including scheduling, task delegation,trainingand on-site management

Manage a team of Sport Specific Volunteersincluding recruitment, retention, training, scheduling,recognitionand task delegation

Act as point of contact with LA28 Functional areasto solve Games Time issues

Act aspointof contact with the International Federation team toidentifyand solve Games Time issues.

Background and Requirements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.

Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods (up to 8+ hours a day) across large event venues.

Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds

Hours of work will vary. Requires the ability to work flexible and extended hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak event delivery phases.

Ability to communicate effectively via two-way radio and in person in high-noise environments.

The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000.00 - $98,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
