Job summary

Cornerstone Defense LLC seeks a SQL Server Database Administrator in San Diego, CA. The role administers SQL databases, tunes performance, and develops reporting infrastructure to support multiple business units.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline.
• Five+ years progressive experience in database administration.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server and SQL Server databases.
• Experience with .Net Framework and application development (C#, ASP, VB).
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models; Always On, clustering, and DR options.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage Microsoft SQL databases; design and develop DBA components.
• Develop and enhance reporting infrastructure for ad hoc reports across business units.
• Database performance tuning, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Install, patch, and upgrade SQL Server Databases; develop SQL programs.
• Provide consulting and training for information system users.
• Collaborate with business users to design reports using various interfaces and tools.
• Import/export and backup data between software programs.
• Perform software testing prior to production release.
• Develop, maintain and enhance intranet software.
• Review database design and integration; recommend improvements.
• Develop procedures and standards for database management; monitor activity and utilization.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Observe all laws and safety practices in work.
• Track and resolve database incidents and SLA-bound requests.
• Collaborate with Application/Business/Database teams on strategic solutions.
