Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, LLC. (KAES) is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to support our SQL Server and modern databases that serve KAES users across on-prem and cloud platforms.

You will join a team of DBAs to ensure high availability, patching, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and production support. Our culture emphasizes practical, principle-based decision making, with opportunities to contribute and grow within a global KAES technology team.

Qualifications

• Intermediate experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.
• Scripting for task automation processes.
• Backups and restores (full/diff/log) and point-in-time restores.
• AWS: EC2, EBS, IAM, CloudWatch and basic networking for database hosts.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot access issues and grant least-privilege access to databases.
• Apply security patches/updates to dev/uat/prod database servers.
• Review database/monitoring logs for troubleshooting performance issues.
• Assist in planning database upgrades to meet business needs.
• Add disk space to an Amazon EC2 instance or build a new EC2 database server.
• Help end users with connectivity issues to a supported database.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize queries or indexes.
• Automate log cleanup to preserve server disk space.
• Document solutions in the knowledgebase.
