Job summary

TransCore seeks a Database Administrator II in Houston, TX to provide day-to-day and on-call support for Infinity production installations. You will maintain and optimize SQL Server data warehouses, develop stored procedures, and ensure performance and security across production, data warehouse, and QA environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 6–9 years of SQL Server DBA/Development/Data Warehouse experience.
• Expertise in PowerShell scripting to automate SQL tasks.
• Experience with SSIS/SSRS and Always-On availability groups.
• Experience with data warehouse environments and SQL Server tools.
• Experience with 3rd party tools like RedGate and SCOM.
• Willing to participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Owns and executes daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, backups, replication, and logins.
• Develop and sustain SQL Server Data Warehouse and perform data loading and modeling.
• Design and manage Fact and Dimension tables; maintain SSIS packages.
• Create and maintain SSRS reports documentation.
• Analyze data to forecast business threads.
• Ensure storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures.
• Provide first-line support during normal business and on-call hours.
• Support deployments and enhancements; validate system requirements.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Work with AlwaysOn availability groups and HA features.
• Create indexes and maintain statistics.
• Troubleshoot integrity, performance, blocking, deadlocks, replication, connectivity, and security issues.
• Monitor installations for performance degradation and perform cleanup.
• Develop procedures and scripts to improve processes.
• Support Production, Data Warehouse, Development and QA environments.
• Analyze Transaction Data Reports and reconcile differences.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and release deployments after hours.
