Location: Albany, NY
Duration: 12+ months

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of business solutions on SQL Server platform using SSRS and advanced Excel reporting techniques.
• Develop data cubes for report development.
• Understand and follow agency software lifecycle methodologies, create design documents, perform coding/debugging/testing/development.
• Research emerging technologies to improve current processes.
• Implement Integrated Justice Portal standards related to reporting structure, including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS.
• Create reports using SQL Server Reporting Services within Microsoft Visual Studio based on specifications/requirements.
• Follow all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle: analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance.
• Follow and contribute to agency standards and utilize industry best practices.
• Develop queries and stored procedures for data extraction using SQL and relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; write complex, efficient SQL.
• Provide ongoing support for production applications – system monitoring, processing, and user support.
• Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
• Create a suite of reports that can dynamically group, sort, or filter data with automated delivery, exports, and user/role based security.
• Research emerging technologies to improve current processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 80 months experience in report development using Microsoft SQL Server (2005/2008), stored procedures, Microsoft Reporting Services, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Minimum 48 months experience writing highly complex and efficient SQL on one or more relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; experience with SQL Error Handling, Views, Triggers, Stored Procedures, and Functions.
• Minimum 12 months experience developing analytical cubes and multi-dimensional structures using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Minimum 36 months experience with logical and physical data modelling, and database design using Data Modelling Tools such as Erwin.
• Minimum 36 months experience planning, designing and implementing reports related to criminal justice processing (statistical reporting, disposition processing, fingerprint identification processing, criminal history inquiry, Sex Offender Management, tracking of wanted/missing persons, or initiatives related to offender supervision).
• Minimum 36 months experience using SSIS Package configurations.
