SQL Developer - Data Migration Project

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to support a large-scale data migration project. The ideal candidate will help transform, validate, and prepare data from a legacy SQL database for import into a new enterprise system.

This role will work closely with business and technical teams to develop SQL views, implement data mapping requirements, create validation queries, and support testing throughout the migration process.

Key Responsibilities

• Create validation and data quality checks
• Generate datasets and CSV files for review and import
• Investigate and resolve data issues and rejected records
• Support testing and data reconciliation activities
• Document data mappings, transformations, and validation processes

Required Skills

SQL Development

• Strong SQL and SQL Server experience
• Complex joins, CTEs, and subqueries
• CASE statements and data transformations
• Data cleansing and troubleshooting
• Data type conversions and handling NULL values
• Aggregations and duplicate identification

Data Migration Experience

• Source-to-target data mapping
• Data conversion and transformation
• Crosswalk and lookup mapping rules
• Exception reporting and data quality validation

CSV & Excel

• Exporting data from SQL queries and views
• Creating and validating CSV files

Qualifications

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New York City, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
