Job summary

ATC is seeking a hands-on Database Administrator to support a Microsoft SQL Server environment across on-premises and Azure in Wisconsin. This role emphasizes proactive monitoring, resilience, and performance tuning to keep critical systems healthy and available.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a dedicated Database Administrator role.
• Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Experience with SQL Server installations, Azure SQL deployments, database maintenance and database access security.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support multiple Microsoft SQL Server instances on-premises and Azure.
• Proactively monitor health, performance and capacity; address issues before production impact.
• Manage maintenance, security, backup, recovery and fault-tolerance practices.
• Troubleshoot production DB issues and coordinate with application and infrastructure teams.
• Plan and execute database migrations to ensure stability.
• Develop physical database designs from logical models and support new applications.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Establish database standards, controls and documentation.
• Provide design consultation to application teams.
• Participate in Change, Incident and Release Management; on-call rotation.
• On-call off-hours support.
