Job summary

Quantum Technologies. LLC in Columbus, Ohio seeks an SQL DBA for an 8-month engagement with potential extension. The role covers SQL Server on-prem and in Azure, including SSIS ETL, SSMS, and advanced T-SQL. You will support Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs, focusing on security, monitoring, and HA/DR.

US work authorization required. Bill rate is $73/hour (C2C) with W-2, 1099, and C2C options. Client details to be discussed.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL Server, SSMS internals, and T-SQL development.
• Experience implementing SSIS packages and ETL workflows.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Entra ID, Key Vault, Backup, and RBAC.
• Experience migrating databases between on-premises SQL Server and Azure.
• Understanding of Azure security, networking, scalability, and HA/DR.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert SQL Server engineering across on-prem and Azure environments.
• Develop and optimize T-SQL scripts and stored procedures.
• Design and implement SSIS packages and ETL processes.
• Support Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Assist with security, monitoring, and HA/DR planning.

Job Description:

• Deep expertise in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and underlying database internals.
• Advanced command of Transact-SQL (T-SQL) language syntax.
• Experience implementing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) workflows.
• Experience supporting Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
• Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Backup, and Azure role-based access control.
• Experience migrating and integrating databases between on-premises SQL Server and Azure environments.
• Understanding of Azure database security, networking, scalability, cost optimization, and HA/DR capabilities.
• Hands-on familiarity with third-party monitoring and backup tools, such as Redgate.
