HIRING: SQL Server DBA – 3 Month Contract + | >£500 a day OutsideIR35

I’m eagerly on the hunt for an experienced SQL Server DBA to support my client’s Development team on a 3 month contract remotely. There is a chance for extension up to 9 months. Currently an SQL Server estate spanning on prem and cloud environments, supporting critical systems within higher education.

This is a hands on role for a DBA who can quickly assess environments, deliver improvements, and shape future direction.

What you’ll be doing:

• Health checks across all SQL Server instances (performance, security, auditing, maintenance)
• Producing recommendations, quick wins, and a draft delivery plan
• SQL Server and SSRS licence reviews
• Developing and delivering upgrade / migration plans (SQL Server 2016+)
• Supporting urgent upgrades where required
• Creating architectural recommendations for the SQL estate
• Working with stakeholders across Digital and providing weekly progress updates

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience as a SQL Server DBA
• On-prem and cloud SQL experience

Nice to have:

experience in the higher education sector.

Basics: 3 month contract - possible extension up to 9 months

Day Rate: > £500 a day OutsideIR35
