Overview

The Fire SPRINKLER Technician 1 provides high-quality customer support through on-site inspecting, testing, service, installation, and maintenance services of various SPR Systems under supervision.

Responsibilities

1. Perform testing and inspection of fire SPRINKLER systems per NFPA and local code standards, noting deficiencies.
2. Functionally-test Initiating Devices, Sprinkler Equipment, and peripherals.
3. Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers and account managers.
4. Prepare inspection and service reports.
5. Perform pre-testing and final inspections for projects under supervision.
6. Determine and order materials needed for repairs.
7. Develop relationships with building owners and managers.
8. Complete projects within estimates and specifications.
9. Respond to service requests, diagnose malfunctions, and repair or replace equipment.
10. Perform PITCO activities under supervision.
11. Read blueprints and drawings.
12. Maintain truck inventory.
13. Respond to after-hours service calls as scheduled.
14. Maintain industry certifications and grow technical skills.

Qualifications

1. HS Diploma/GED with 4 years relevant experience or 2-year technology degree with 2 years relevant experience.
2. Willing to work overtime and on projects anywhere.
3. Pass background check and drug screening.
4. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
5. Timely attendance, teamwork, and safety awareness.
6. Advanced troubleshooting skills.
7. Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA standards, and industry standards.

Certifications

• NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level I or pass NICET I exam within 90 days of employment.
