Job summary

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, seeks a skilled Sprinkler Technician to service water-based fire protection systems in secure facilities across the Intelligence Community. The role requires NICET Level III/IV certification and at least five years of hands-on sprinkler experience.

You will read blueprints, perform maintenance, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards in high-security environments, coordinating with facility managers and security personnel.

Qualifications

  • NICET Level III or IV certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with water-based fire sprinkler systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 20, 25 and related standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, maintain, and repair water-based fire protection systems (wet/dry/pre-action/deluge).
  • Perform impairments, restorations, and documentation per IC security protocols.
  • Diagnose deficiencies and execute corrective actions with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fire protection drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and AHJ requirements.
  • Prepare inspection reports, deficiency reports, and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with facility managers, engineers, and security in secure environments.
  • Support system upgrades, retrofits, and acceptance testing.
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and inventory per site requirements.

As the Sprinkler Technician, you will support mission-critical facilities within the Intelligence Community. This role is responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of water-based fire protection systems in secure, high-reliability environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strict adherence to codes and procedures, and a strong understanding of working in classified or controlled-access facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Inspect, test, maintain, and repair water-based fire protection systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems
  • Perform system impairments, restorations, and documentation in compliance with IC security and safety protocols

  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, deficiency reports, and maintenance records
  • Coordinate with facility managers, engineers, and security personnel in secure environments
  • Support system upgrades, retrofits, and acceptance testing
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and inventory in accordance with company and site requirements
  • Adhere to all safety, security, and confidentiality regulations at IC facilities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • NICET Level III or Level IV Certification in Water-Based Systems (required)
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with water-based fire sprinkler systems
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 13, 20, 25, and related standards
  • Proven ability to work independently in high-security, mission-critical environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and construction drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
  • Prior experience working in Intelligence Community, DoD, or other secure federal facilities
  • Experience with pre-action and special hazard systems
