Job summary

Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies in Freehold, NJ is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Service Estimator to help price fire protection systems for developers and contractors. You will prepare estimates, review construction documents, and perform site surveys to determine installation costs.

NFPA standards knowledge and strong communication with clients and teams are essential. Qualified candidates will have an AA or equivalent, at least one year of related experience, and proficiency with MS Office

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• One year of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hydraulic calculation program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and bid proposals based on evaluation of construction documents
• Perform preliminary surveys of existing buildings to determine costs associated with the installation of fire protection services
• Apply knowledge of NFPA standards to analyze hazards and identify appropriate design approaches
• Read and comprehend plans and specifications
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including design, materials, fabrication, equipment, permits, subcontracts, and installation labor for both union and open shop projects
• Meet with contractors and subcontractors on site to review site conditions and discuss bid scope when necessary
• Other related duties as assigned

Davis-Ulmer (DU) Family of Companies is a network of fire protection, life safety, and security service companies, protecting people and property across 30+ locations and 11 states. Quick Response Fire Protection, a division of the DU Family of Companies, is the largest residential and commercial fire sprinkler contractor in New Jersey. For over 25 years, Quick Response has provided full-service fire protection solutions across the tristate area, specializing in the design, installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and special hazard suppression systems for all industries and property types. Our turnkey services include system design and fabrication, NFPA-compliant inspections, 24/7 emergency response, and central station monitoring.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Sprinkler Service Estimator to join our team in Freehold, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for estimating costs and supporting the promotion and sale of fire protection systems and products to developers, contractors, and end users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare estimates and bid proposals based on evaluation of construction documents
• Perform preliminary surveys of existing buildings to determine costs associated with the installation of fire protection services
• Apply knowledge of NFPA standards to analyze hazards and identify appropriate design approaches
• Read and comprehend plans and specifications
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including design, materials, fabrication, equipment, permits, subcontracts, and installation labor for both union and open shop projects

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
• One year of related experience and/or training
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and any hydraulic calculation program
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Strong oral and written communication skills when working with all levels of management and employees, clients, vendors, and business associates; clearly communicates directions and information and speaks effectively to groups and individuals
• Strong interpersonal skills and cognitive discipline
• Valid driver's license required

The wage/salary for this role is $70,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
