Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Pipefitter/Welder for a data center construction project in Atlanta, GA. You will layout, assemble, and install piping systems, including Victaulic grooved piping, steel piping, and related hardware, in a commercial or light industrial setting.

You will read project plans and blueprints, produce accurate layouts, and collaborate with site teams to ensure safe, efficient operations. Overtime is common, and a 6AM start with 50–60 hour weeks is typical.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in pipefitting or welding 6-inch Schedule 80 steel pipe.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and piping diagrams.
• Experience with Victaulic piping systems and bolted couplings.
• Journeyman-level pipefitting or plumbing skills preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Job Title: Pipefitter / Welder

Pay: $21-41

Shift: 6AM start time (typically running 50-60hr weeks!)

Job Description

This role focuses on layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems for a large data center construction project. You will install steel and Victaulic piping systems, hangers, supports, valves, and related components while closely following project plans, drawings, and installation standards in a commercial or light industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate layout and installation of piping systems for a data center construction project.

• Install pipe hangers, supports, valves, and related hardware according to project specifications.

• Work with Victaulic piping systems using bolted coupling methods and other mechanical joining techniques.

• Assemble and install steel piping using mechanical couplings and appropriate tools and equipment.

• Identify, select, and install pipe fittings and components required for the piping configuration.

• Assist with material take-offs, including identifying required pipe, fittings, and hardware from drawings.

• Interpret and follow project plans, blueprints, and installation standards to ensure correct piping configurations.

• Perform layout and assembly of piping systems in commercial or light industrial construction environments.

• Collaborate with site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality installation work.

• If applicable, weld 6-inch Schedule 80 steel pipe in accordance with project and safety standards.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in pipefitting or welding 6-inch Schedule 80 steel pipe.

• Proven ability to perform layout and assemble piping systems from drawings and specifications.

• Experience working with steel pipe systems in commercial or light industrial construction environments.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and piping diagrams.

• Hands-on experience installing pipe hangers, supports, valves, and related components.

• Familiarity with Victaulic and grooved piping systems, including bolted coupling methods.

• Strong understanding of piping configurations and mechanical system installation practices.

• 3+ years of experience with pipefitting or plumbing and mechanical systems installation.

• Journeyman-level pipefitting or plumbing skills preferred.

• Mechanical installation experience strongly preferred over welding-heavy backgrounds.

• Applicable licenses or certifications related to pipefitting, plumbing, or mechanical installation strongly preferred.

• OSHA 10 certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience on data center construction projects or similar large-scale mechanical installations.

• Ability to work effectively in commercial and light industrial environments with multidisciplinary teams.

• Comfort working with Victaulic piping systems and grooved mechanical couplings.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to following installation standards and safety practices.

• Capability to assist with material take-offs and identification of piping components from drawings.

• Willingness to take on both pipefitting and mechanical installation tasks as project needs evolve.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
