Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Garland, TX is seeking a skilled Sprinkler Service Technician to independently service, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems. This role requires the ability to diagnose deficiencies, perform repairs, and document work with NFPA-compliant reporting.

You will work with customers, travel to job sites, and mentor entry-level technicians. A high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and NICET Level I or higher preferred, with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and service reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

The Sprinkler Service Technician independently performs service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician may be considered at a Journeyman level and is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.

• RME-I is required for this role.

• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
