Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of fire sprinkler systems. This entry-level role offers a path to a skilled trade in the fire and life safety industry.

You will support Sprinkler Service Technicians, read blueprints, and help coordinate projects on local job sites. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential for a successful apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow in the Fire and Life Safety industry.
• Self-starter; able to work independently but also be a team player with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Willing to learn to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.
• Willing to learn to thread and groove pipe.
• Willing to travel to local job site locations.
• Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including lifting up to 25 pounds, up to 50 pounds occasionally; climb ladders; stand/walk most of the day.
• Able to obtain OSHA 10 Certifications.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with urgency.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with installation and coordination of overhead sprinkler systems, pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.
• Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.
• Learn reading and interpreting blueprints to install prefabricated sprinkler piping.
• Communicate with contractors and trades to keep projects on time and budget.
• Comply with industry procedures and Sciens safety programs.
