Job summary

Johnson Controls in Tucson, AZ is seeking skilled fire sprinkler service technicians to diagnose, repair and service sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial settings. You will handle calls from the Service Resource Center and work with customers to resolve equipment issues.

The role requires 1+ year experience in fire sprinkler service, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and careful adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Capable of performing physical labor including carrying and moving equipment up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet while following safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial/industrial applications (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge and pumps).
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service, work independently, and follow prescribed procedures.

What you will do

Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems.
Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial applications. These include but are not limited to wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge and fire pumps.

How you will do it
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Must have the ability to work alone.

  • 1+ years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems
  • Retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Must adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirement of the company and the customer
Preferred
  • NICET Level II certification is a plus

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25-35 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
