Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Sprinkler Fitter for on-site service and installation work across temperature-controlled facilities. You will troubleshoot wet, dry and pre-action systems, read blueprints, and perform routine maintenance with safety and efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, a sprinkler fitter certification, and a clean driving record. Expect variable shifts, physical work, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Washington State Sprinkler Fitter Certification is required.
• Wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler systems and fire pump systems knowledge is a must.
• 3–5 years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Service and troubleshoot wet/dry/pre-action sprinkler systems and fire pumps.
• Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Carry/move equipment up to 60 pounds and work on ladders/scaffolding up to 40 feet.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and dispose of trash properly; wear required safety gear.
• Secure tools and equipment at period end to prevent loss or damage.
• Complete time reports and other required documents.

What you will do

• Service and troubleshoot wet/dry/ pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows, including repair and internal inspections of systems.




• Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.




• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 60 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.




• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection work. Wear appropriate safety equipment as required including bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, face mask and safety toed boots.




• Properly secure all Johnson Controls Fire Protection tools and equipment at the end of each work period so as to prevent damage or loss.




• Have computer/phone skills - Word, Excel, Outlook and IPhone apps and functions




• Complete and submit time reports and other documents as required.




• Bring to the immediate attention of the dispatcher/supervisor of all changes, discrepancies and coordination problems that impair activities or schedules.




• Working alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer service on call requirements is required.




• Perform other duties as directed.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $30-40 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
