Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building systems and energy efficiency, is seeking apprentices to assist the foreman in installing sprinkler systems and to follow all safety policies.

You will maintain documentation, perform physical labor up to 70 lbs, climb ladders and work in various positions while learning through Grinnell’s approved Apprenticeship Program.

Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work with others.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work with others and communicate in English.
• Able to perform physically demanding labor.

Responsibilities

• Assist foreman in the installation of sprinkler systems.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Carry/move equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
• Perform physical labor in various positions (ladders/scaffolds).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and quick learning.
• Enrol in Grinnell’s Apprenticeship Program and meet program requirements.
