Job summary

Carowinds is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee the hotel building, equipment, and guest-room upkeep in addition to public areas. The role requires ensuring all spaces remain in complete working order and free from blemishes.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of maintenance experience, vocational training in electrical/HVAC/plumbing or carpentry, and strong mechanical aptitude. The job includes night/weekend/holiday shifts and safety-conscious tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of maintenance or related work experience.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and maintenance techniques.
• Ability to operate heavy maintenance equipment.
• Basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintains hotel building and equipment; ensure guest-rooms are in order and public areas are in good repair.
• Ensures public areas are in good repair and mechanically sound.
• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and takes corrective action.
• Maintains building; painting, plumbing, electrical; routine repairs.
• Communicates status of repairs, guest-rooms, inventory, complaints, losses, and unusual situations to supervisor.
• Completes forms and department paperwork; follows procedures.
• Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving guests or supervising staff.
• Meets scheduling availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the hotel building and equipment and to ensure guest-roomsare in complete working order and public areas are free from unsightly maintenance blemishes.
• Ensures that all public areas including hallways, pool area, fitness center, sports courts, banquet spaces, stairways, public restrooms, public access and lobby areas are in good repair and mechanically sound.
• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections as assigned and take corrective action as appropriate.
• Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Makes routine repairs to hotel equipment.
• Communicates with supervisor regarding status of repairs, guest-rooms, inventory levels, guest complaints, losses, and any unusual situations to maintain smooth operation.
• Completes various forms and department paperwork. Follows all department operational procedures.
• Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions
• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED required.
• Vocational / technical training in Vocational Training: Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry or related work preferred.
• At least 2 years of maintenance or relevant work experience required.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling techniques; proper maintenance techniques, requirements, and use of equipment; Strong mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Must have ability to operate various types of heavy maintenance equipment.
