Job summary

Carowinds is seeking a maintenance technician to keep the hotel building and equipment in top condition. You will ensure guest rooms are fully functional and public areas are clean and well-maintained.

You will perform routine maintenance tasks, handle preventative inspections, and coordinate with supervisors. The role requires physical work, basic trades skills, and availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/technical training in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or related work preferred.
• At least 2 years of maintenance or relevant work experience required.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling techniques; strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical/plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the hotel building and equipment and ensures guest rooms are in complete working order and public areas are free from maintenance blemishes.
• Ensures all public areas are in good repair and mechanically sound.
• Performs preventative maintenance inspections and takes corrective action as needed.
• Performs routine painting, plumbing, electrical, and other related maintenance; makes routine repairs to hotel equipment.
• Communicates status of repairs, guest rooms, inventory, and any issues to supervisor to maintain smooth operation.
• Completes maintenance forms and follows department procedures.
• Provides guest service per Six Flags standards, including greeting guests and giving directions.
• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the hotel building and equipment and to ensure guest-roomsare in complete working order and public areas are free from unsightly maintenance blemishes.
• Ensures that all public areas including hallways, pool area, fitness center, sports courts, banquet spaces, stairways, public restrooms, public access and lobby areas are in good repair and mechanically sound.
• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections as assigned and take corrective action as appropriate.
• Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Makes routine repairs to hotel equipment.
• Communicates with supervisor regarding status of repairs, guest-rooms, inventory levels, guest complaints, losses, and any unusual situations to maintain smooth operation.
• Completes various forms and department paperwork. Follows all department operational procedures.
• Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions
• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
