Job summary

Hickory Chair LlC is seeking an upholsterer responsible for positioning and securing foundations within frames. The role uses manual and powered tools to clip, tie and staple components, while maintaining correct distances from rails and ensuring overall quality.

The candidate will apply propex to bottoms as directed, inspect workmanship, and keep production levels steady while preparing frames for advanced coil work through 8 Way Hand Tiers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous webbing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position is responsible for positioning and securing foundation within the frame.
• Uses manual and powered tools to clip, tie and/or staple components into place.
• Obtains frame and applies propex to bottom or prescribed bottom; maintains proper distance from rails.
• Ensures quality by stretching buttons and backs with appropriate tool; stretches side to side and front to back.
• Inspects own work for quality and reports problems to supervision.
• Maintains production level and prepares frames for 8 Way Hand Tiers for coils.

Position Summary:Position is responsible for positioning and securing foundation within the frame. Uses manual and powered tools to clip, tie and/or staple these components into place.Position Details:Obtains frame and applies propex to bottom or any other prescribed bottom, maintains proper distance from front rail, side center rails, and back center railsEnsures quality and uniform workmanship by properly stretching all buttons and backs with the appropriate tool. Stretching is done side to side and front to back.Applies cardboard to the arms of product and Thumbroll s neededDoes constant inspection of his/her own work to maintain highest quality workmanship and notifies supervision if any quality problems occurDoes rush pieces as marked by authorized personnel from staging or as asked by Lead Person so that staging area maintains a supply of work for Upholstery.Prepares frames for the 8 Way Hand Tiers, who will apply the coilsMaintains a production level, with quality of work produced meeting the company's quality standards as determined by departmental inspection, supervision, and final inspectionCarries out any additional duties as assigned by SupervisorProperly maintains any company owned tools or equipment and reports any problems with these items to Supervisor promptlyPosition Requirements:High school diploma or GED preferredPrevious webbing experience preferredPhysical Requirements:The physical demands and work environment expectations described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
