Conservation Legacy, through the Appalachian Conservation Corps program, seeks Spring & Summer Conservation Crew Members based in Harrisonburg, VA. Crews travel to project sites and perform 10-hour field days aimed at restoration across national forests after hurricane recovery efforts.

Participants will live a crew lifestyle, meet weekly stipends, and work under AmeriCorps guidelines. Start date: February 22, 2027; End date: August 17, 2027. AmeriCorps Education Award is available on completion.

Formación

• Be age 18–30 (up to 35 for veterans).
• US citizenship or lawful permanent residency.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willing to provide information for a background check.
• Comfortable working in remote locations and in various weather conditions.

Responsabilidades

• Perform manual labor on environmental conservation projects in all weather for 10 hours daily.
• Work on visitor access improvements, trail construction and maintenance, habitat restoration, and invasive species removal.
• Be trained to safely use chainsaws for conservation projects.
• Work in crews of four with two crew leaders providing mentorship and support.
