Job summary

Conservation Legacy is seeking an AmeriCorps Crew Leader to supervise and mentor a four-person crew on conservation projects across Appalachia. Based in Harrisonburg, VA, you will lead fieldwork, coordinate safety, and liaise with partners.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning, teamwork, and responsible stewardship of public lands. Responsibilities include directing daily tasks, ensuring safety, and supporting crew development while delivering high-quality results under varied conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Experience in outdoor settings and teamwork.
• Wilderness and safety awareness essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a crew of four young adults on conservation projects.
• Coordinate logistics and communication with partners and staff.
• Monitor safety and project quality; ensure on-site efficiency.
• Assist in training and mentoring crew members.
• Support field scheduling and adherence to program guidelines.
