Job summary

Conservation Legacy seeks Spring & Summer Conservation Crew Members to support environmental projects across Virginia. Crews work about 10 hours daily in all weather, travel to project sites from Harrisonburg, and operate in four-person crews with two crew leaders under AmeriCorps supervision.

Start Feb 22, 2027 and end Aug 17, 2027, with a $600 weekly compensation ($500 living stipend + $100 additional benefit) and AmeriCorps education award eligibility upon successful completion of the term.

Qualifications

• Be between the ages of 18 and 30.
• Have U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency status.
• Comfortable working independently in remote locations and adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor on environmental conservation projects in all weather with 10-hour days.
• Learn and safely use chainsaws for conservation projects.
• Crew may travel between Harrisonburg project sites, working in teams of four crew members and two crew leaders.
