Job summary

MKS Instruments is offering a Spring software engineering co‑op in Rochester, NY. You will partner with Technical Operations to assist in designing, developing, and implementing cost‑effective production automation software used in semiconductor and thin film markets.

You will report to the Operations Software Team Lead and contribute to maintaining and expanding automation platforms, while collaborating with NPI teams on new product deployments.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant majors.
• Knowledge of .NET (VB.NET or C#).
• Familiarity with Python.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining existing automation platforms in terms of functionality, reliability and performance.
• Supporting new automation development initiatives and other critical projects.
• Designing and developing internal .NET framework for production automation and backend management.
• Collaborating with NPI teams on design, development and deployment of new production software.
• Performing root cause analysis on software failures and leading corrective actions.
