EveryMind. invites you to join the Spring Community Education Internship, a hands‑on opportunity to support mental health education across the region.

You will work with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to prepare trainings, materials, and events while gaining experience in outreach, program coordination, and evaluation. The internship offers hybrid scheduling (8-24 hours/week) during business hours, with travel to sites including Rockville, MD and state training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student studying Public Health or Education, or a related field
  • Interest in mental health marketing and communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

Responsibilities

  • Program Tracking & Grant Reporting – Collect and analyze data, track program outcomes, and support grant reporting to measure program impact
  • Educational Material Development – Assist in creating training materials, resources, and presentations to support mental health education initiatives
  • Program Implementation – Gain hands‑on experience supporting the launch and delivery of community education programs that increase mental health awareness across diverse populations
  • Community Outreach – Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to promote mental health literacy and program engagement
  • Process & Training Support – Organize standard operating procedures, review education processes, and assist with implementing trainings
  • Technical & Onsite Support – Provide technical support for virtual trainings and onsite assistance for in‑person trainings as needed
  • Frequent travel between sites

Make a Difference with EveryMind – Spring Community Education Internship Opportunity!

This internship takes place during the Spring, typically beginning in early January and ending in May/June.

Why Join EveryMind? For over 65 years, EveryMind has strengthened communities and empowered individuals through mental health and community support services. With 200 staff across 27 locations, we deliver programs that truly change lives.

Join EveryMind’s Community Education team for a hands-on internship experience supporting community mental health education across the region. Interns will work side by side with experienced staff to help coordinate and deliver some of our trainings such as Mental Health First Aid, QPR, 988 awareness, and other community education programs. They will assist with outreach, training logistics, participant communication, materials, events, data collection, and follow-up, while gaining opportunities to observe and participate in training delivery and, with appropriate preparation and supervision, facilitate select trainings or training components. Interns will work with schools, nonprofits, community organizations, educators, parents, caregivers, and other community members, developing valuable skills in public speaking, community outreach, program coordination, communication, nonprofit operations, and program evaluation. This is an opportunity to gain real-world experience in mental health education while making a meaningful impact by reducing stigma, increasing mental health awareness, and connecting communities with valuable resources and support.

Schedule: Hybrid, Flexible, part-time (8-24 hours/week during business hours, M-F)

Location: Travel as needed to different locations including EveryMind Office in Rockville, MD, PGCPS, MCPS, AACPS, DMV, and through State of Maryland for training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student studying Public Health or Education, or a related field
  • Interest in mental health marketing and communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Instagram, Facebook
  • Some in‑person availability is required for content capture
  • Tech Savvy; comfortable using a smartphone for video and photo recording
  • Previous customer service experience preferred. Leadership qualities are desirable
  • Reliable Transportation; will go to regular outreach events
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
