Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java and object-oriented design.
• 5+ years of microservices development.
• 3+ years of Spring Boot experience.
• Experience building RESTful APIs using JSON.
• Experience with API gateways and service mesh tools such as Apigee and Istio.
• Experience with event streaming and data platforms such as Kafka, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, Postgres, DB2, SQL Server.
• Experience with DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines (CloudBees Jenkins, Rancher).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, Datadog).
• Strong understanding of OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, and API security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support large-scale Java microservices systems.
• Build and maintain RESTful microservices using Spring Boot.
• Implement and integrate APIs following industry best practices.
• Configure GTM, LTM, load balancing, network components, and LFI-related resiliency setups.
• Ensure APIs seamlessly fail over across data centers for high availability.
• Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and related streaming technologies.
• Manage Postgres schemas, updates, and Liquibase workflows; support DB2-to-Postgres streaming.
• Work with React for front-end components as needed.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Apply security best practices across APIs, services, and data layers including OAuth2, JWT, and mTLS.
• Monitor applications using tools such as Splunk and Datadog and support incident triage and resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure engineering standards are met.
• Provide testing support, production release oversight, and post-production stabilization.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Work cross-functionally with security, storage, infrastructure, and architecture teams.
