Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is seeking a Java Developer to design and build scalable, UX-driven applications and distributed systems in Chicago.

You will work with REST APIs, microservices, and modern data architectures while leveraging AWS services and event-driven messaging. The ideal candidate brings 8-10 years of software engineering experience, strong Java/Python and Angular skills, and hands-on experience with Spark, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of strong software engineering experience in scalable UX driven apps and distributed systems.
• Proven experience designing and building scalable REST APIs, microservices, Kubernetes and distributed systems.
• Experience in Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Delta Lake architecture and big data ecosystem.
• Hands-on expertise in Python, Java, Angular and OO design patterns with functional programming.
• Expertise in PySpark and Apache Spark for high-performance distributed data processing.
• Solid depth in micro-services with Kubernetes containerization for eventing/serving.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge) and cloud-native data platforms.
• Experience with messaging/event-driven tech (Kafka, SNS, SQS) and databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Aurora, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis).
• IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD/DevOps practices (Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab, Bitbucket, GoCD).
• Knowledge of testing strategies (unit/integration/regression) and strong problem-solving ability.
• Exposure to Generative AI technologies (LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI).
